Growing up in a little red house on the edge of a large forest in Norway, there were three things we were encouraged to be.
To be kind, to be honest, and to be hard-working.
These are things that each of us can control.
Over time, I've come to add a fourth: Be curious.
Be curious about the world around us, about the history and cultures of places we have yet to go.
And then go.
Go with an open heart and a curious mind, and you will find inspiration anew.
The world awaits.
Be curious.

On December 5, 2024, Viking named the newest sister ship in its award-winning ocean fleet, the Viking Vela. The naming event also served as a celebration of Viking’s longtime partnership with Fincantieri, which is one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups and is based in Trieste, Italy. Serving as ceremonial godmother of the Viking Vela was Ivana Elice, Vice President and Project Manager of the Fincantieri Cruise Business Unit, who has overseen the design and engineering of Viking’s ocean ships for 12 years.
