Viking’s Restart of Operations: Welcome Back Voyages

Viking successfully restarted operations in May 2021, and we have been sailing in the United Kingdom with British guests since May 22. In June, we welcomed our first American guests back on board in Bermuda and Iceland. This month, Viking will launch Welcome Back voyages in the Mediterranean, and will restart its European river operations with select itineraries in Portugal, France and along the Rhine. For the latest news and updates about our restart of operations, visit our Media Center.

Welcome Back Voyages: What is needed to travel?

Bermuda, Iceland and Mediterranean ocean voyages and European river voyages: Welcome Back voyages are exclusively available for vaccinated guests. While travel entry requirements may continue to evolve, we are currently working with the respective government authorities to confirm what exactly will be required of our guests when it is time for their voyage. More information about these requirements, as well as all health and safety protocols, will be provided directly to guests and their travel agents in advance of departure.

Specific Itinerary Cancellations—Updated July 7, 2021

On March 11, 2020, Viking was the first cruise line to suspend operations of our river and ocean cruises. Our commitment to our family of guests and employees is that their safety and wellbeing is always our top priority.

While Viking has restarted limited operations, international travel remains complicated in some regions of the world, requiring the cancellation of specific itineraries. Guests and their travel agents on impacted itineraries have been notified directly by Viking Customer Relations.
