What is needed to travel?

All of Viking’s sailings are available exclusively for vaccinated guests, until further notice.

To sail with Viking, guests will need to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination. In order to verify the vaccination status of our guests, we have partnered with VeriFLY™, a secure digital credentials company. Prior to travel, guests will be required to submit a digital copy of their NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Record through the VeriFLY mobile app. Guests should have access to their NHS COVID-19 Vaccination Record, as airlines, destinations or businesses often require proof of vaccination to be presented.

Viking will require all guests to take a COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of prior to boarding their first outbound flight from their home country, until further notice.

Viking is committed to doing all we can to ensure guests are healthy and well prepared for international travel—and that they will be able to arrive in your destination and embark their ship without incident. If the country being visited does not already mandate a COVID-19 test for entry, guests will need to present negative PCR test results, taken within 72 hours of departing for their Viking voyage.

Please note, many countries already require COVID-19 tests to enter. If the first country on the itinerary already requires a COVID-19 test for entry, there is no additional testing requirement. The negative COVID-19 test results that meet the country’s entry requirements will also meet the Viking testing requirement.

PCR tests are considered the gold standard for COVID-19 compared to antigen “rapid” tests; as such, PCR is also Viking’s diagnostics platform for testing on board our vessels. Traveling with a copy of a negative PCR test result is an added layer of protection for guests and their fellow travellers.

A List of authorised testing providers can be found through the GOV.UK website here.

The vaccination and pre-departure COVID-19 PCR testing requirements complement the protocol enhancements included in our Viking Health & Safety Program, which was developed in coordination with an international team of scientific and medical advisors. With our protocol enhancements in place, we believe there is no safer way to travel the world than on a Viking voyage.
