Viking requires all guests take a COVID-19 test prior to departure

Viking is committed to doing all we can to ensure you are healthy and well prepared for international travel—and that you will be able to arrive in your destination and embark your ship without incident.

Viking requires all guests to take a pre-departure COVID-19 test. For your convenience, Viking offers two ways of testing prior to departure; for either, you must travel with an electronic or printed copy of your negative COVID-19 test result.

  • Guests may take a COVID-19 PCR test (with a laboratory-certified proof of negative result) within 72 hours prior to boarding your first international flight from your home country OR
  • Guests may take a COVID-19 antigen test (lateral flow) with proof of a negative result within 24 hours prior to boarding your first international flight from your home country. The testing provider must provide a fit to fly certificate.

Select at-home tests will meet Viking’s travel requirement, provided these are accepted by the country of embarkation. Please check with your test provider for further information.

Traveling with an electronic or printed copy of your negative COVID-19 test result is an added layer of protection for you and your fellow travellers—and will be required for embarkation on your Viking ship. Also, as a complimentary service at the end of your itinerary, Viking will provide you with the COVID-19 test result needed for your return flight home.

Please Note: Some countries may have more stringent testing requirements for entry and for boarding a cruise ship. If you are currently booked on a Viking voyage, rest assured we will inform you of all relevant requirements in advance of your departure. COVID-19 Testing Location & Home Testing

  • When selecting a testing location, make sure it provides COVID-19 PCR or antigen tests.
  • Tests must be booked via an authorised Government provider. NHS testing is not accepted.
  • Confirm with your chosen testing provider that they can deliver the test results prior to your departure.
  • There may be a charge at some testing locations.
  • To meet Viking’s travel requirement, you must ensure that if a PCR test is selected this test includes a laboratory-certified proof of result, if an Antigen (lateral flow) test is selected the testing provider must provide a fit to fly certificate.
  • Home Testing providers may require a video consultation as part of the testing process.

Discount Terms and Conditions: The following Companies (Test Providers) offer Viking guests a discount on Covid-19 tests.

Please note that the Test Providers are wholly independent of Viking River Cruises UK Ltd and its associated group companies (“Viking”) and Viking gives no guarantees, warranties or representations in respect of the services offered by each of the Test Providers and shall not be liable for any losses or other expenses incurred by guests with Test Providers.

Any contract for the supply of tests to guests by any Test Provider will be direct between the relevant guests and the relevant Test Provider and guests will be entirely responsible for making any payments due direct to the relevant provider.

In the circumstances, any issues with regard to the provision of test results (including any delay in the receipt of test results) should be taken up by guests direct with the relevant provider.
